Biennale: 53. International Art Exhibition

Inauguration 4-5-6 June 2009

The topic of the art exhibition in program for this year will be "Making Worlds". According to the Director Daniel Birnbaum, it will be less fragmented than in the past editions, and ideally closer to the places where creation takes place (such as the studio and the laboratory), than to those where the finished work of art is merely displayed (like museums).

Venice Film Festival

66th International Exhibition of Cinematographic Art

The 2009 Venice Film Festival will take place from September 2 through 12 on the island of Lido. This year, the two-time winner of the Festival and internationally acclaimed director Ang Lee will chair the competition. The Golden Lion for Lifetime Achievement will be awarded to director John Lasseter and to the Disney-Pixar directors Brad Bird, Pete Docter, Andrew Stanton e Lee Unkrich.
